'Frustration' Collection Statement

My latest series of jewellery and objects are the development of pieces that were inspired by scaffolding forms and architecture taken from an urban environment.

I have now started to investigate space, geometry and line and look at certain ways of intercepting and containing space. My work also examines contrasts between solidity and transparency, positive and negative space, and line and plane.

Laser welding helps me to create these qualities and to make my jewellery and objects as delicately as possible and in a completely original way.

The majority of the pieces in this series are made from stainless steel as it has the perfect material qualities to form the desired shapes and to complement the scaffolding structures
